山形県鶴岡市南部、人口わずか87名の関川という集落を舞台に、シングルボードコンピュータのRaspberry Piにカメラモジュールを取り付け、体に装着してムラの中を歩きました。ここで重要なのは、シャッターを自分で操作するのではなく、すべてがAIとプログラムに委ねられている点です。ChatGPTによって生成されたPythonコードに基づいて、カメラはランダムにシャッターを切ります。写真とは何か、何をもって人々が写真を「写真」と呼ぶのか。シャッターを押した瞬間に写真は誰のものになるのか。

In the southern part of Tsuruoka City, Yamagata Prefecture, there is a small village called Sekigawa with a population of only 87. In this setting, I attached a camera module to a single-board computer, the Raspberry Pi, and walked through the village with the device mounted on my body. What is crucial here is that I did not operate the shutter myself; everything was entrusted to AI and programming. Based on Python code generated by ChatGPT, the camera randomly triggered the shutter. What exactly is a photograph, and what criteria do people use to call something a “photograph”? Who does the photograph belong to at the moment the shutter is pressed?
